Chip Seal Paving Contractors

You may not be aware of what chip seal paving is, but you have probably seen the results of it, especially if you have driven around on any of the back roads or side roads in the Austin, TX area. Chip sealing can have many different looks, because the top layer of chip seal paving can be made of several different types of stone, for instance river rock, slate, or granite.

The process involves applying a base layer of hot, liquid asphalt over an already prepared surface, so that a layer of stone can be added and rolled into the liquid asphalt surface. Then the tar & rock surface is left to cure for a couple days, after which the loose gravel will be swept away, and the chip seal surface is considered complete.

Chip sealing with Texas Driveway & Parking Lot Repair

Although asphalt paving is one of our specialties, we are equally comfortable and adept at installing chip seal surfaces wherever they may be needed. There are any number of reasons why you might consider having a chip seal surface installed on your rural roadway, or possibly your residential driveway. First of all, it’s water-resistant, and that can make a huge difference in terms of minimizing any damage which gets done by rainstorms and runoff. That can result in a huge cost savings, since you’re less likely to have to absorb costly repairs in the future.

If your paving need is to rejuvenate a particular roadway, either public or private, you can avoid having to completely re-pave the road by doing a chip seal paving installation. Chip sealing will smooth out bumpy roadways and fill in cracks, without having to undergo the longer period typically necessary for re-paving. You can also expect safer driving on a chip seal surface, because it’s skid-resistant, glare-resistant, and it also provides a reflective surface which is very useful for night-time driving. You’ll also probably appreciate the fact that installing a chip seal surface might cost you in the neighborhood of 20% less than a traditional paving job would.
